Axe Throwing Catalan League. Axerum Vilanova, Axestral Sabadell and The Axe Club in Barcelona, we have joined forces and passion for axe throwing to create the 1st Catalan League of this sport that is gaining more and more followers in our community. 

The different days of the League will be held from September 2023 to the end of April 2024. Each month the competition will take place in one of the affiliated centers. In order to participate, it is essential to be a member of one of the 3 centers and to register for each of the sessions.

DATES AND LOCATION

The registration fee for each of the days is 15 €. You can register at the center corresponding to the League day in which you want to participate in these links:

7th Day 21 April 24 SuperAxe - Axestral - Free Entry

This 7th day does not count in League, it will be the great Axe Throwing party in Catalonia, where we will compete in a different format and enjoy a great day together.

The competitions in each of the days of the Catalan League will have 3 phases and will be composed of 14 pitches. Before the competition the throwers will have 5 practice throws.

The winner of the day will be the person with the best score in the sum of the 3 phases. The runner-up will be the next highest scorer and so on. The League championship will be won by the thrower with the most points in the sum of the 5 best rounds.

  • SCORING

    • If the axe blade touches 2 scores, the highest score will be awarded.
    • For scoring purposes we accept as part of the axe blade, the incoming part of the metal body into the wood.
    • The axe must be stuck in the target for 4 seconds before falling.
    • If the thrower removes the axe from the target before the judge determines the score, it will count as 0 points.
    • The axe can be held by the handle with 1 or 2 hands.
    • Throws with the axe blade facing forward or backward will be valid, both techniques are allowed.
    • The axe will be thrown in the traditional way, i.e. from top to bottom.
    • The axe can only be changed at the beginning of each phase and all 14 throws must be made with the same axe.

  • THE SHAFT

    • The length of the cutting blade of the axe shall be between 4 cm and 12 cm.
    • The total weight of the axe shall be a minimum of 400 g and a maximum of 1500 g.
    • The length of the handle will be between 25 to 60 cm.
    • The host room will specify which type of axe it provides.

  • THE DIANAS

    • 70 cm x 70 cm template
    • The KillThrow has a diameter of 4 cm and its rating is 7
    • The center has a diameter of 10 cm and its score is 5
    • The width of the lines forming the circles is 2 cm.
    • The target will be spray painted
    • The center of the target will be 150 cm from the ground.
    • The minimum throwing distance is 2.80m and the maximum distance is 5m.
    • The pitcher shall not have the right to request a change.

Axe Throwing CLUB | THE AXE CLUB | MEMBERS

To participate in the Catalan League, it is necessary to belong, as a member, to one of the affiliated clubs. In addition, you can enjoy discounts on training hours, participation in events and tournaments and other advantages that each of the clubs offer their members. The fixed fee for participating in the League is 30€.
